My initial goal for this course was to learn the development process of a product (i.e. Manufacturing, the design process, etc.). I did not know what to expect going into this course but I did know I was excited to start the course and knew I would learn valuable information. What I did learn was how the lean startup process works and the right way to go about starting a business. Without this course I would have possibly failed trying to develop a product or service. The content learned in this course gives me an upper hand from those who has not taken such a course who wants to build a startup because they may not do the correct necessary first few steps when starting a business. For those who do not know what a lean startup is, look below:
According to theleanstartup.com (n.d.), “The Lean Startup provides a scientific approach to creating and managing startups and get a desired product to customers’ hands faster. The Lean Startup method teaches you how to drive a startup-how to steer, when to turn, and when to persevere-and grow a business with maximum acceleration. It is a principled approach to new product development.”
I am in the business planning phase of starting my company and will not rush into launching like most companies do. I will keep a steady pace (but fast steady pace) and do every step needed to succeed. I want to involve some customers in this process because I want to know that they trust I can develop products and services that will benefit them. Customers are the very important piece to any business. Everything I learned in this course will be applied in my life personally and professional. As mentioned above I must get the customers involved and keep them involved.
